Nine Must-Try Coffee Drinks & Recipes

1. Espresso

Ingredients: 18–20 g finely ground coffee, ~1.5 oz (45 ml) water at 195–205 °F.
Instructions: Pull a shot (25–30 seconds) for a rich, crema-topped shot to enjoy on its own or use as a base


2. Cappuccino

Ingredients: 1 shot espresso, 4 oz steamed milk, 2 oz milk foam.
Instructions: Brew espresso, steam milk into froth, layer over the shot and top with thick foam—optionally dust with cocoa


3. Latte (Caffè Latte)

Ingredients: 1 shot espresso, 6 oz steamed milk, 1 oz microfoam.
Instructions: Pour steamed milk over the espresso, top with a thin foam layer. Sweet syrups (e.g., vanilla, caramel) are optional extras.


4. Mocha

Ingredients: 1 shot espresso, 2 tbsp hot chocolate or cocoa powder, ~6 oz steamed milk, whipped cream (optional).
Instructions: Mix espresso with chocolate, add steamed milk, top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings for a decadent finish.


5. Americano

Ingredients: 1 shot espresso, ~6 oz hot water.
Instructions: Pull an espresso shot and dilute with hot water for a smoother, longer cup.


6. Macchiato (Caffè Macchiato)

Ingredients: 1 shot espresso, ~1 oz steamed milk.
Instructions: Brew espresso and add a small dollop of steamed (preferably foamed) milk—just enough to “mark” the coffee.


7. Flat White

Ingredients: Double espresso (≈50 ml), steamed milk (~130 ml) with a thin layer (~5 mm) of microfoam.
Instructions: Combine espresso and silky steamed milk with minimal foam for a velvety texture. Originally from Australia/New Zealand.


8. Marocchino

Ingredients: Cocoa powder, espresso shot (or ristretto), milk froth.
Instructions: Dust glass with cocoa powder, add espresso, top with frothy milk, and sprinkle cocoa again. Some versions include Nutella or hot chocolate.


9. Irish Coffee

Ingredients: Hot coffee (or Americano/espresso), ~1 tsp sugar, Irish whiskey, chilled fresh cream.
Instructions: Stir sugar and whiskey into hot coffee, then carefully float a layer of cream on top by pouring over the back of a spoon.
